We’re working with a leading global live events and production business looking for an experienced Technical Audio Specialist to join their technical team.
This is a hands-on role for an audio specialist who can take ownership of the design, planning and delivery of professional audio systems for live events, while also leading onsite technical teams. You’ll work across a variety of small to large-scale productions, combining detailed pre-production with hands-on delivery onsite.
The Role
- Design, plan and implement audio solutions for live events, working closely with Project Managers and wider technical teams.
- Determine equipment, crew and external supplier requirements for each project.
- Design PA systems using simulation software such as D&B ArrayCalc.
- Contribute to technical drawings and system designs using Vectorworks.
- Produce and communicate technical documentation including patch sheets, signal flow diagrams and equipment lists.
- Build, deploy and tune line array and distributed point-source PA systems, including D&B, L-Acoustics and Martin Audio.
- Operate professional digital mixing consoles including Yamaha, DiGiCo and Allen & Heath.
- Coordinate and monitor Shure and Sennheiser RF microphone and IEM systems.
- Programme and integrate wired and wireless communications systems including GreenGo, Clear-Com and RTS.
- Lead and supervise technicians onsite throughout setup, live operation and breakdown.
- Troubleshoot technical issues quickly and effectively during live events.
- Support equipment preparation, maintenance, inventory and forecasting.
- Mentor and develop other technical, operational and sales team members.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, venues and internal teams throughout delivery.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Advanced experience with Yamaha, DiGiCo and Allen & Heath consoles.
- Strong PA system design, build and tuning experience.
- Hands-on knowledge of D&B, L-Acoustics and/or Martin Audio systems.
- Strong RF knowledge across Shure and Sennheiser systems.
- Experience programming professional comms systems.
- Working knowledge of Vectorworks and audio simulation software.
- Experience leading technical crews onsite.
- A strong understanding of live event workflows from pre-production through to onsite delivery and de-rig.
- Excellent client-facing and communication skills.
- Previous customer service or hospitality experience would be beneficial.
You’ll be joining an established international production business with access to state-of-the-art event technology, a clearly defined career path and opportunities to develop within a global organisation.
Benefits include private healthcare following qualifying service, enhanced family leave, company sick pay, employee assistance and recognition programmes, volunteering opportunities and a generous referral scheme.
