Senior Finance Manager

DNA Recruit are working with an established Independent Creative agency who is looking for a Senior Finance Manager to help steer the commercial direction of the business. This role sits at a critical junction. Connecting robust financial control with forward-looking planning and leadership decision-making.

Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the Financial Controller, you’ll play a key role in shaping how the agency understands performance, plans for growth and makes smarter commercial choices.

About the Role

• Act as a senior commercial sounding board for the CFO and leadership team
• Turn financial data into insight that supports confident decision-making
• Own the agency’s budgeting and forecasting cycles, adapting plans as the business moves
• Build and maintain financial models covering growth scenarios, resourcing plans and profitability
• Support longer-term financial planning and strategic initiatives
• Produce and review monthly management information with the Financial Controller, ensuring it is meaningful and decision-ready
• Interpret performance across revenue, margins, utilisation and operating costs
• Identify trends, risks and opportunities, explaining what they mean for the business
• Create clear, intuitive reporting that leaders actually rely on
• Partner with operations and client teams to improve resourcing efficiency and commercial outcomes
• Support pricing approaches and commercial frameworks for client engagements
• Act as a senior bridge between day-to-day finance operations and strategic leadership
• Coach and support members of the finance team as required
• Improve systems, processes and tools to support a growing, independent agency

Skills and Experience Required

• Experience in a senior finance role within a Creative, Marketing or Media agency
• Strong grasp of agency financial dynamics, including project-based revenue, utilisation and margins
• Comfortable operating between hands-on finance delivery and leadership-level planning
• Commercially minded with strong analytical and scenario-modelling capability
• Able to communicate financial insight clearly and persuasively
• Confident engaging senior stakeholders and influencing outcomes
• Detail-oriented without losing sight of the bigger picture
• Practical, collaborative and solutions-driven
• Energised by fast-moving, entrepreneurial environments

Salary: £80K-£90K Benefits
