JOB DESCRIPTION
Are you a Head of Social Media ready to shape the social strategy behind some of the UK's most high-profile brands and organisations?
DNA Recruit are working with a highly respected, award-winning strategic communications consultancy to recruit an exceptional Head of Social Media. This is a confidential opportunity to lead and grow a best-in-class social media offering, working with senior stakeholders and a diverse portfolio of clients across corporate communications, public affairs, consumer, campaigning and reputation management.
This is a rare opportunity for an experienced social media leader who combines strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. You'll influence client strategy, lead integrated campaigns, mentor talented teams and play a key role in the future growth of the agency's social media practice.
About the Role
As Head of Social Media, you will lead the development and delivery of strategic social media programmes that support clients' wider communications, marketing and reputation objectives.
Working alongside senior consultants, creatives, digital specialists and account teams, you'll create innovative social strategies, oversee high-quality content creation and provide trusted counsel to senior clients. You'll also help drive business growth by contributing to pitches, developing new service offerings and embedding social media into integrated communications programmes.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys both strategic leadership and rolling up their sleeves to deliver outstanding social campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop insight-led social media strategies across corporate, public affairs, consumer and leadership communications.
- Advise senior clients on platform strategy, audience engagement, content planning and reputation management.
- Build channel strategies, content pillars, editorial calendars and campaign plans across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook and emerging platforms.
- Write and oversee high-quality social content tailored to each platform.
- Brief designers, videographers and creative teams to produce engaging, platform-native content.
- Analyse campaign performance, interpret social analytics and optimise future activity.
- Define KPIs and produce meaningful performance reports linked to business objectives.
- Support executive thought leadership and LinkedIn positioning strategies.
- Lead social media input into new business proposals, pitches and client growth opportunities.
- Develop the agency's social media products, frameworks and best practice.
- Mentor junior colleagues and raise social capability across the wider business.
- Stay ahead of platform developments, trends, algorithms and emerging opportunities.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- 5-7+ years' experience in social media strategy and management within an agency, consultancy or fast-paced communications environment.
- Strong experience developing integrated social media strategies for multiple clients.
- Excellent copywriting and editing skills across multiple social platforms.
- Deep knowledge of LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook and emerging social channels.
- Experience creating content calendars, campaign strategies and audience engagement plans.
- Strong understanding of corporate communications, reputation management, advocacy and leadership positioning.
- Experience advising senior stakeholders and presenting strategic recommendations.
- Knowledge of both organic and paid social media approaches.
- Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting social performance data.
- Experience working closely with creative, design and video production teams.
- Excellent project management and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to identify opportunities for account growth.
- Executive social media and LinkedIn thought leadership.

Salary: Up to £70k per annum
