JOB DESCRIPTION

We’re proud to be partnering with a leading healthcare communications agency to help them hire a Group Account Director with deep expertise in access and reimbursement. This is a senior-level leadership role overseeing a portfolio of pharmaceutical clients, responsible for guiding overall account strategy, ensuring flawless delivery, and nurturing long-term client relationships.

The ideal candidate will be a confident team leader who can balance client priorities, agency goals, and the nuances of the payer and market access landscape.

Location: Candidates must be based in the Tri-State area (NYC, NJ, or local PA).

You’ll oversee a multi-brand portfolio generating approximately $2.5M–$3M in revenue. Responsibilities include:

Client Strategy & Relationship Management
  • Lead key client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor on brand and access strategy
  • Guide strategic planning in partnership with internal teams and client stakeholders
  • Proactively identify business growth opportunities and potential challenges
  • Expand relationships beyond day-to-day client contacts
Team Leadership
  • Manage and mentor up to three direct reports
  • Support team development, oversee day-to-day delivery, and ensure quality control across all projects
  • Promote best practices and standard operating procedures
Project & Workflow Oversight
  • Review and guide internal kickoff meetings, project briefs, and routing processes
  • Attend and lead MLR meetings; ensure all Veeva submission processes are followed and comments are properly implemented
  • Delegate effectively while remaining accountable for strategic, complex deliverables
Financial Ownership
  • Guide budget development and ensure accurate financial tracking across multiple brands
  • Review scopes of work, draft for complex initiatives, and manage full PO recognition for the team
  • Compile invoicing details, secure internal and client approvals, and support revenue forecasting
What They’re Looking For:
  • 8–10 years of agency experience, with 5+ years in access and reimbursement
  • Proven success leading major pharmaceutical accounts and managing direct reports
  • Deep understanding of Veeva and the MLR process
  • Confident communicator and strategist with strong presentation skills
  • Comfortable managing both the big picture and day-to-day project flow
