JOB DESCRIPTION
This is a client-facing role for someone who brings a command of market access dynamics, including medical and pharmacy benefits, buy-and-bill models, specialty pharmacy, clinical pathways, NCCN, and medically integrated dispensing. The role requires both strategic intelligence and executional leadership, with the ability to translate complex subject matter into clear direction for clients and internal teams alike.
Please note: This role is only open to candidates with agency or in-house pharma marketing experience. Field Reimbursement Specialists and Field Account Directors will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Lead strategic planning efforts across oncology-focused market access accounts
- Translate payer, HEOR, and RWE insights into actionable marketing strategies
- Develop brand positioning, value narratives, and go-to-market access strategies
- Shape annual and quarterly brand planning initiatives and strategic workshops
- Provide insight into payer policy, pricing, reimbursement, and access challenges
- Identify market dynamics and evidence needs that influence access decisions
- Understand and communicate key oncology access models (e.g., buy-and-bill, specialty distribution)
- Assess patient support programs and recommend optimization strategies
- Partner with internal account, creative, and analytics teams to guide message development and execution
- Serve as subject matter expert and point of contact across agency and client workstreams
- Participate in business development efforts, including pitch strategy, RFPs, and presentations
- Conduct and interpret primary and secondary research to inform access strategy
- Identify data gaps and translate findings into meaningful strategic recommendations
- Help develop compelling and compliant promotional materials in line with FDA and payer requirements
- Represent the strategic team with confidence in internal and client-facing settings
- Work independently to guide access strategy while integrating seamlessly into a wider client services team
- Act as a thought leader for clients and internal stakeholders alike
- 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical market access or strategic planning, ideally within an agency or in-house pharma marketing team
- Deep expertise in oncology access models and payer marketing strategy
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy/medical benefits, reimbursement structures, and access drivers
- Demonstrated success leading brand planning and access initiatives
- A strategic thinker with excellent communication and presentation skills
- Background in HEOR, RWE, and evidence-based positioning is highly valued
