Health & Safety Advisor – Events Venue – London

Are you a dedicated Health and Safety professional seeking a new challenge? DNA Recruit are representing a world leading large scale events venue, looking to appoint a proactive Health & Safety Advisor to champion safety awareness and drive continuous improvement throughout their business.
 
As the Health and Safety Advisor, your primary responsibility is to promote and champion health and safety awareness at an organizational level. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in developing and ensuring compliance with health and safety policies and practices. Your focus will include monitoring safety functions, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring adherence to health and safety legislation by all employees, workers, and contractors.
 
The role…
 
  • Day to Day Operational Health & Safety:
  • Monitor venue operations to maintain statutory and venue regulations.
  • Collaborate with department managers to appoint key staff for health and safety functions.
  • Champion a culture of health and safety, minimizing incidents and ensuring compliance with H&S principles.
  • Event Planning/Preparation:
  • Attend and contribute to event planning meetings, addressing H&S concerns.
  • Check and approve floor and stand plans, ensuring compliance and identifying solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external networks to benchmark performance.
  • Compliance with H&S Legal Obligations:
  • Stay informed about health and safety legislation, ensuring compliance and updating policies.
  • Liaise with enforcing authorities and communicate with relevant stakeholders on behalf of the company.
  • Management of H&S Incidents - Accident Investigation & Prevention:
  • Receive and investigate reports of accidents, ensuring proper investigation and lessons learned.
  • Maintain and monitor the system for recording and reporting injuries, providing statistical summaries.
 
Is it you?
 
  • Good working knowledge of H&S legislation.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues with contractors diplomatically.
  • Experience in accident investigations and remedial actions.
  • NEBOSH certificate or equivalent H&S qualification.
  • Membership of an H&S-related professional body is advantageous.
  • Credible experience in health and safety, including operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Common sense approach and technical proficiency.
  • Industry-specific experience, e.g., CDM (Construction Design and Management).
  • Ability to read and understand event-related floor plans and construction drawings.
  • Experience in maintaining or reaching externally audited management standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office for reporting and data analysis.
