Job Title: New Business Manager (Retail Agency)
Our client is leading retail agency, dedicated to delivering innovative marketing and branding solutions for their diverse portfolio of retail clients. The agency takes pride in creating impactful campaigns that drive brand visibility, customer engagement, and sales growth. With a strong focus on creativity, data-driven strategies, and exceptional customer experiences, they aim to be at the forefront of the retail industry.
Role Overview: As the New Business Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving the expansion and growth of the agency by acquiring new retail clients. Leveraging your industry expertise and strong networking skills, you will identify and pursue new business opportunities, nurturing relationships with prospective clients, and securing partnerships that align with the agency's vision and objectives.

  • Business Development: Prospect and identify potential retail clients, utilizing various channels, including cold calling, networking events, and industry conferences, to build a robust pipeline of new business opportunities.
  • Lead Generation: Generate qualified leads and follow up on inbound inquiries, demonstrating our agency's capabilities, and tailoring pitches to address the specific needs of potential clients.
  • Client Consultation: Conduct in-depth consultations with prospective clients, understanding their marketing objectives, challenges, and business goals, and presenting tailored solutions that showcase the agency's value proposition.
  • Proposal Development: Collaborate with the creative and strategy teams to develop compelling and innovative proposals, encompassing a range of marketing services, from branding and advertising to digital campaigns and in-store experiences.
  • Negotiation and Closing: Negotiate contract terms and pricing, addressing any objections or concerns, and efficiently close new business deals, ensuring a smooth transition to the account management team.
  • Market Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and retail market developments to identify new opportunities and adapt their services to meet evolving client needs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to ensure a seamless handover of new accounts, providing comprehensive briefs and insights to facilitate the delivery of outstanding campaigns.
  • Performance Reporting: Track and report on sales performance, forecasting revenue, and providing regular updates to the management team.


  • Proven track record as a New Business Manager or in a similar sales/business development role within the retail industry or a retail-focused agency.
  • In-depth understanding of the retail sector, market dynamics, and the challenges and opportunities faced by retailers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively pitch and present solutions to clients, showcasing creativity and strategic thinking.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a proven track record in achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • A self-starter with a proactive approach to lead generation and business development.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and other sales tools to manage leads and track sales performance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
