About the Role:
DNA Recruit is on the hunt for an experienced Building Services Technician (Electrical) to join one of our clients, a major events venue in London. This role is perfect for someone with a strong background in electrical services and building maintenance who thrives in a dynamic environment.
Role Purpose:
Your main responsibility will be to provide both reactive and planned maintenance support, focusing on electrical systems within the venue. You’ll ensure that all electrical installations and equipment meet industry and statutory standards, working closely with other technical staff and contractors to deliver high-quality services. Your role is crucial in maintaining the venue’s operations smoothly and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical Services Delivery:
- Provide effective maintenance and support for electrical systems, including reactive and planned preventive tasks.
- Assist with electrical projects, ensuring they are completed safely and on time.
- Work with contractors and the technical services team to maintain customer satisfaction and service quality.
- Help maintain stock levels of electrical equipment to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
- Technical Duties and Administration:
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Diagnose system malfunctions and correct issues using appropriate tools and methods.
- Inspect electrical systems to identify hazards and prioritize repairs.
- Participate in HV power switching as part of the Building Services team.
- Complete all related administrative tasks, including job sheets, risk assessments, and safety permits.
- Quality Assurance and Health & Safety:
- Assist with QA audits to ensure compliance with site procedures and legal requirements.
- Adhere to industry standards and safety regulations in all electrical work.
- Service Level Agreements/Customer Service:
- Ensure all tasks are completed within agreed SLA timeframes.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure compliance with SLAs and address any issues proactively.
- Maintain a “First-Class Customer Experience” by being focused, proactive, and solution-oriented.
- Team Working:
- Support team members and contribute to their development by sharing knowledge and experience.
- Assist the Lead Technician and Manager in supervising contractor/casual staff, ensuring high standards of work and behaviour.
- Uphold the core values of the venue in all interactions and tasks.
- Teamwork: Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Initiative: Proactive in completing tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Work Quality: Consistently delivers high-quality work under pressure.
- Attitude: Positive, approachable, and self-motivated with a professional appearance.
- Adaptability: Flexible and responsive to changing requirements and emergency situations.
- Understanding of critical recovery systems, M&E maintenance, and energy monitoring.
- Knowledge of BMS, COSHH, and water treatment (L8).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with electrical safety practices.
- Basic knowledge of HV systems is desirable.
- City & Guilds qualification in a building services-related discipline (Electrical bias preferred):
- C&G 2360/2330 (Electrical level 2)
- 17th Edition IEE Regulations qualified
- C&G 2391/2394/5 (Inspection & Testing)
- C&G 2377-12 (Portable Appliance Testing)
- Demonstrable experience in electrical and mechanical building services, preferably within a public venue environment.
