The Role
As Marketing Manager, you’ll be an integral part of the team, reporting directly to the Director of Marketing & Communications and managing two team members—a Marketing Executive and a Marketing Administrator. Your focus will be on delivering creative, commercially driven marketing and communications strategies to support both the venue’s exhibitions business and its commercial services, including Food & Beverage, Media (advertising), and exhibitor services like Stand Building and IT.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, where innovation and collaboration are key. You’ll take ownership of marketing projects from start to finish, working closely with the sales teams to drive client acquisition, retention, and new business development. You’ll also be responsible for managing the marketing budget and ensuring all activity aligns with the venue’s commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Exhibition & Commercial Services Marketing: You’ll develop and implement a marketing and communications plan that supports the venue's annual revenue targets. This includes targeted marketing for UK and European B2B and B2C Exhibition Organisers.
- Commercial Services: You’ll create strategies to drive ancillary revenues, such as Media, F&B, and IT services, while working closely with the commercial sales and operational teams to evolve the venue’s service offerings.
- Digital Marketing: Lead all digital marketing activities, managing the website's exhibition sections, improving SEO, and coordinating paid and organic campaigns with external agencies. You’ll also manage the venue’s presence at trade shows and industry events.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong relationships with key clients, providing marketing support and enhancing their event experience through bespoke marketing packages.
- Content Creation: Oversee the production of sales and marketing materials, including brochures, case studies, virtual tours, web content, and video production to showcase the venue’s offerings.
- PR & Communications: In collaboration with the PR & Communications Manager, develop a PR plan to ensure consistent, engaging press coverage for the venue and its services. You’ll also support social media strategies across LinkedIn and other key channels.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the Marketing Executive and Marketing Administrator, ensuring they are engaged and equipped to support wider marketing initiatives. You’ll also manage their activities, from trade shows to client communications and industry events.
- Data and Insights: Use customer research and data analytics to measure campaign success and continuously refine marketing strategies, ensuring strong ROI.
- Partner Relationships: Work alongside the Head of Partnerships to leverage key relationships with sponsors and partners, using marketing and PR opportunities to drive commercial revenues.
We are seeking an experienced marketing professional who is:
- Commercially astute with a proven track record in delivering successful, revenue-driven marketing campaigns in the events, exhibitions, or conferences sector.
- A strong communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and present ideas clearly.
- Highly organised with excellent project management skills, able to juggle various tasks and lead a team to deliver campaigns on time and within budget.
- Digitally savvy, with a strong understanding of SEO, paid media, and social media platforms.
- A creative thinker who is both strategic and hands-on, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of projects from concept to completion.
