Business Development Director - CX Agency - Sydney

Our client - based in Sydney Australia - are a true CX agency encompassing consulting, data, marketing, technology and delivery and they look at doing things differently. They recognise the interplay between channels and create value by planning seamless cross-channel customer journeys whether via mobile, web, social or traditional media. They feel about data the way other agencies feel about awards. Obsession about user experience, testing and measuring and the combination works well for their consumers and clients alike.

As Business Development Director you are the first point of contact and the voice of the agency and your responsibilities are to carry this across all communications, working collectively with the executive team to find, farm and deliver profitable new business opportunities to help grow the agency and its capabilities. All new business meeting preparation responsibilities fall with you, and this includes brand, sector and individual analysis to help provide the agency with a genuine competitive advantage when meeting clients. Daily responsibilities include:

  • Cold calling/emailing/outreach
  • Consulting with the executive team on approaches
  • Support on the CX Suite
  • Implementing a new business mentality in the agency
  • Finding profitable new business opportunities and partnerships
  • Liaising with everyone in the agency and external stakeholders to meet new business targets
  • Training staff on best-in-class new business practice
  • Building relationships with senior decision makers at global brands
  • Maintaining the new business database

  • Ability to brief and prepare your senior colleagues for new business meetings and with your strong attention to detail set them up for success.
  • Proven global business acumen and understanding of the world of marketing services - digital, CX, social, data, technology set you apart from other BBDs so that you can hit the ground running.
  • Understand business requirements and overall agency growth goals
  • Keynote and PowerPoint presentation guru
  • Ability to engage and set up meetings with senior decision makers from brands

From strong PR/Marketing and driving the brand awareness, to brilliant in networking or with a strong existing network, to sublimely great at cold calling and opening doors, to running a process (from RFI, RFP, to pitch to conversion to on-boarding), to building a clear and structured strategy. The role of a New Business Director can cover all or some of these and for our client it is finding the right BBD who understands what they do, and can sell it.

Salary: up to AUS$180K - dependent on experience
