Associate Designer Director-11218
DNA is collaborating with an esteemed brand experience agency and is currently seeking a highly skilled and versatile lead 3D designer / architect to join a creative studio team based in London.
As part of this role, you'll engage with a diverse and captivating array of both global and national brands. Your primary responsibility will involve crafting innovative experiences across various platforms such as promotional activation's, roadshows, launch events, conferences, retail spaces, exhibitions, and hospitality areas.
Ideal candidates will possess a minimum of 7 years' experience in experiential marketing, interiors, retail, events, or related environmental sectors.
Your motivation lies in designing distinctive environments and installations for a diverse client base. Your expertise will be pivotal in delivering immersive, dynamic, and inspiring spaces rooted in experiential design.
Your primary skill set involves translating design concepts conceived by the creative and design team into meticulously crafted and refined environments that align with the envisioned visitor experience.
You revel in developing intricately detailed 3D environments, carefully considering the customer journey and curating compelling touch points along the way. Your acute attention to detail spans materiality, furniture, lighting, and all elements contributing to the precise ambience and character of an environment. Your passion lies in leveraging spatial elements and sensory qualities to evoke emotional impact on visitors.
- Minimum 7 years' experience in experiential events and marketing, temporary architecture, pavilion design, or similar environmental design disciplines (e.g., retail, hospitality, theatre, stage, etc.).
- Proficiency in Rhino, AutoCad or Vectorworks, and a rendering software such as VRay, Enscape, or Cinema4D (Mandatory)
- Proficient use of Adobe Suite, especially Photoshop. (Mandatory)
- Experience managing projects from concept design to final realisation.
- Attentiveness to detail and a dedication to excellence in all assigned work.
- Sound understanding of construction methods and materials, capable of producing design intent drawings within real world constraints.
- Ability to effectively communicate your design vision to the in-house production team.
- Familiarity with design processes, adhering to defined scopes, time lines, and operational protocols. Maintaining well organised drawing packages reflecting revisions and updates.
- Awareness of building codes, health and safety regulations, and DDA compliance.
- Exceptional organisational skills, efficiency, and adeptness in managing both personal and team schedules to meet deadlines.
- Proactive with a strong ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Some experience in leading and directing a small team, including external visualisers/renderers.
- Define and uphold quality control processes and mentor junior team members in design principles and best practices.
- Capable of presenting design progress during regular critiques and development meetings, potentially engaging directly with clients.
- Understanding of the pivotal role of lighting in spatial experiences, collaborating with lighting designers and producers for seamless integration into designs.
- Clear direction on materiality, contributing to the development of a materials library and an innovative portfolio of materials and suppliers.
