Magazine Renewals Manager


A growing and exciting company that create bespoke industry events and have one of the most well read publications in the industry are looking for a Subscriptions Manager to account handle existing accounts and work in the new business team.


The Role


This company is in a huge period of growth and they are looking for a Magazine Subscriptions Manager with B2B experience, to join their London based team (Farringdon) and help them renew and expand their stellar roster of brand and agency subscribers. Reporting to the Head of Customer Engagement, Client Services, you will be required to build knowledge and understanding of client requirements and benefits derived from subscribing to Contagious Magazine to ensure successful renewals. You will work in a fast paced, goal orientated environment. This role will be target driven with an attractive commission structure with and opportunities for career progression for the right candidate.

You will have previous experience of providing intelligent solutions for clients within the marketing/advertising industry with demonstrable ability of influencing senior figures, up to C level.


Key duties and responsibilities

  • Improve retention and the overall renewal rates of the magazine
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing subscribers to support long-term commercial sustainability
  • To identify and resolve any potential issues during subscription term
  • Working as part of the Commercial team to identify new business opportunities and cross/ up-sell new or current subscription packages to existing customers.


Work with other departments to ensure integrity of data in CRM systems

Proactively engage in commercial meetings to identify, troubleshoot and resolve any opportunities/issues that may arise during the renewals process.


Skills, experience and attributes


  • Proven experience and understanding of subscriptions sales/renewal process in a commercial environment is a must
  • Genuine interest and curiosity around advertising/media
  • Computer literate, experience of using CRM systems would be a distinct advantage
  • Excellent communication skills and telephone manner
  • Ability to absorb and retain information easily
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Confident, flexible and ability to work in a fast paced, demanding environment
  • Ability to prioritise, work to deadlines and manage time efficiently
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
