Salary: £35-39k

DNA Recruit are working with a leading Professional Body, who seek to hire an experienced, pragmatic and collaborative Data Protection Specialist to ensure that the Institute continuously meets National and International legislation, regulation and best practice. The Head Office is based in Stevenage however a hybrid model is in place offering 2-3 days working from home.


Main Responsibilities:
Support the information security/cyber security plan and global governance framework, by Risk Assessing third party due diligence for security/data protection and GDPR.

Preparing/advising data protection clauses and appropriate security mechanisms for contract/agreements or data transfer, as well as ensuring that all staff are up to date with any new changes.

Advise on processing of personal data Internationally and implications of local data protection laws, particularly in USA, China, India, Hong Kong.

Support the incident and breach response management programme by acting swiftly and reporting any incidents to the relevant parties.

The Person…
The ideal person will have experience of being in a similar, busy data protection role or providing expert data protection advice on a variety of issues, to an organisation (to employees/ colleagues).

Excellent communication skills will be vital for this role as you will be required to deal with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, as well as ensuring that all written communications are grammatically correct throughout data protection clauses, contracts, websites and records.

Excellent up to date, National and International data protection law knowledge, particularly Data Protection Act 2018 and EU/UK GDPR will be essential in order to be successful in this role.
