As the Chief Growth Officer, and a member of the SMT, your role is pivotal in accelerating their growth ambitions, leading the sales function and building relationships with potential new clients and leading sales pitches as well as building and nurturing sales target lists. The Chief Growth Officer will be responsible for translating the company's objectives and financial targets into the creation of a sales strategy, ensuring that the managing director and SMT are aware of the financial position of their sales pipeline and year to date wins, as well as celebrating sales successes with the wider agency. The Chief Growth Officer will be working with the Chief Digital Officer, Managing Director and Heads of Departments to identify particular sectors, type of work and a plan for targeting this desired client list. Other day to day responsibilities include:

  • Representing the agency as the first point of contact for prospective clients; qualifying opportunities, understanding their needs and objectives and presenting this to the SMT team to agree next steps.
  • Managing and completing detailed prospective Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Procurement (RFP).
  • Taking a highly organised, collaborative, methodical approach to new client contracts to ensure payment for works and can upsell and working closely with channel heads to deliver quality proposal, pitch and tender responses. Own the documentation, refinement and roll-out of the agency sales development process.
  • Developing and maintaining current knowledge of the digital marketing and experience landscape and competitive activity.
  • Regularly presenting the company's credentials, communicating it's USPs and positioning the agency to maximum effect.
  • Shape, manage and coach others in the sales process as the business enters into a pitch situation.
  • Establishing fees for new opportunities using tried and tested CPM (commercial pricing model).

Is it you?

Our client is looking for a Chief Growth Officer who likes to push boundaries, thinks big and is not afraid to be different and with the ability to bring together input from different teams and tell a clear and cohesive story. Experience and skills:

  • A proven ability to lead and motivate a team to generate revenues, entrepreneurial drive and creative flair, and a commercial acumen.
  • Comfortable in your ability to assess a client brief to determine a match between the client goals and the agency's capability to deliver on the brief.
  • Based on your expertise, knowing when to say no to a client brief.
  • Knowledgeable about agency competitors and their market position, and experience of working with Tier-1 global brands.
  • Successful background in completing RFIs, RFPs, Tenders and putting together pitch presentations.
  • Previous experience operating at a senior level within a marketing or agency function, with particular focus on new business or sales and within a programmatic and SEO agency background.
  • Significant experience in business development and you will need to understand our financial model and be able to make appropriate commercial decisions such as whether to accept a client's terms and when to push back.
  • Passionate about relationship management, customer service excellence and developing a sales / new business agency culture.
  • Experience working with Tier-1 global brands and will become well versed in the agency's products and services and can present these to prospective clients.
  • Successful background in completing RFIs, RFPs, Tenders and putting together pitch presentations.
  • Comfortable tracking activity using a CRM such as Hubspot.
  • Experience of dealing with client-side procurement teams.
  • Excellent presentation skills with a keen eye for detail and working knowledge of Microsoft Powerpoint and Excel.
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
