DNA Recruit are delighted to be partnering with a global Integrated Brand Experience agency based in Central London, one of experiential marketing's top players, to help them find an Account Director who enjoys managing a team, building an account and the buzz of the pitch. Our client, who have who have offices worldwide, specialise in creating fans for brands, combining the power of live event and digital to create memorable brand experiences and natural brand advocacy.

Reporting to the Agency's Client Services Director, the Account Director will be responsible for the performance of their client accounts, to build and sustain long term business for the Agency, and be accountable for organic growth and profitability of their client accounts to help meet the financial targets.
Other responsibilities include:

  • Work effectively with senior colleagues, in all departments - creative and digital/technology, and responsible for an account team resource to deliver best in class service levels, and optimise productivity and to motivate your team
  • Build strong and enduring client relationships at budget decision maker level, and provide valuable creative solutions to business issues
  • Process and manage briefs to ensure your client's marketing budget is utilised to the best of its ability, and provide intelligent and innovative advice to optimise their budgets and briefs using the agency's senior management as and when appropriate, ensuring delivery of a demonstrable return on client investment
  • Lead client accounts on a day to day basis, and updating them with agency wins, and developments
  • Incite, manage project and account team performance reviews with clients
  • Identify new business opportunities, and be proactive in playing your part in new business pitches
  • Daily management of your account handling team, by providing coaching, regular constructive feedback, process improvement and effective leadership and conducting personal performance reviews of your account team
  • Update account team on performance vs targets on a weekly basis, and forecast client revenues and agency external costs on a weekly basis, and highlight expected changes in billings or income, threats of cancellations etc

Is it you?
A strong knowledge of live events, exhibitions and conferences would be key for the successful candidate for this Account Director role. You must have demonstrable and proven thorough experience and understanding of client's business, brand, consumer and market dynamics, and can fully understand the role of marketing within the Client's business; a creative thinker and have the ability to keep track of the bigger picture without getting too bogged down in the project details; can communicate effective and persuasively verbally and in writing;are comfortable negotiating fees and budgets with clients/procurement personnel and suppliers; have commercial thinking and are able to understand true profitability of accounts based on productivity measures; bring your leadership skills and lead by example by quality of output, appearance, time-keeping and positive attitude.

You must have digital and technology experience and passion for aspects of deliverables, and can understand at a high level, concepts relating to the building of HTML sites, apps, content-lead screen services (VR, AR) tough screen interactives and so on and a modern approach to the use of online tools for process, project and task management such as Trello, Teamgantt etc.

Salary: up to £55K-60K plus bonus and benefits
