A company who is a global provider with over 40,000 employees. They are about to embark on a project of epic proportion, building the cultural district to serve Abu Dhabi. This project will include, museums art galleries, hotels, leisure and commercial facilities. The Project Director, will perform principle in charge responsibilities for the design and delivery of a single major cultural facility designed by a world leading iconic architect.
Who They are Looking for?
The successful Project Director will have excellent analytical, leadership, verbal and written communication skills, someone who is responsive to changing demands, forward thinking with flexibility of method a strong initiative and the ability to work under pressure.
You will possess excellent problem solving skills and have the ability to communicate with client /developer, international design firms and contractors.
You will have a Bachelor's degree or higher in a related subject or equivalent experience. A Master's degree is highly desirable. You will be able to show 15+ years of related experience, 7+ years of which are in a supervisory role. Preference will be given to those candidates who have overseas/ UAE experience of large scale projects.
You will be able to provide direction and guidance to staff members of the project delivery team.
The Role of the Project Director
You will be accountable for and serve as lead authority and provide leadership and guidance on all business activities for the commercial development on the Island.
With the ability to define Schedule and Budget approval points, interfacing with other Island projects and district wide work, identifying and mitigating scope creep, project issues, and performance issues.
Providing leadership to successfully plan, develop, implement and complete projects while maintaining high professional standards. Establishing and maintaining effective communication with deputy project manager and staff.
You will initiate resolution of client, architect, contractor, internal and consultant issues and maintain and build the commercial project team by conducting regular review sessions with personnel and the provision of guidance for future performance expectations.
You will work closely with the integration team, project delivery teams and shared services to maintain high design standards, quality, consistency and technical coordination and ensure that QA/QC procedures are being implemented and followed at all phases of the project in accordance with Quality Assurance Program procedures.
